The 52 Week Pick 'N' Mix Challenge | 70's Nail Art

Happy Sunday lovelies!!

Today's post is this weeks 52 Week Pick 'N' Mix Challenge manicure. The themes we could pick this week are 70's and Grey and 1 colour. I decided to go with a 70's themed manicure.

I had to use good old Google to come up with some ideas since I'm not a 70's baby and had no clue of what to do! I decided to just go ahead and paint my base colour onto my nails. I used 2 coats of Barry M in Matt White.

I wanted to try and go for something bright that looked a little tie dyed but I'm not sure if I pulled it off but I am happy with how it turned out.

I sponged on Essence Colour and Go polishes in 107 Naughty and Pink! 145 Flashy Pumpkin, 137 Wanna Be Your Sunshine and 138 L.O.L. I randomly sponged the polishes onto my nails.

Once it had completely dried I got out my stamping plates and chose this funky spotty design from my BM19 plate. I think this worked really well. It was so hard to photograph as it's so dark these days. I hope you all like it anyway!

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing,

The 52 Week Pick 'N' Mix Challenge | 60's Matte & Texture

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

I've got my 52 Week Pick 'N' Mix Challenge mani for you today. So, I combined the themes again for this one and came up with a 60's matte and texture manicure.

What's more 60's than Monochrome?! I absolutely love this manicure and how well it turned out. I didn't really have a clue what I was going to do at first but then after painting my base colours I just went with it and this is what I came out with.

I'm a little gutted that I somehow managed to smudge my thumb! I got so many compliments on this. I used 2 coats of Barry M Matt White as my base colour. Then on my Thumb and Ring finger I used Barry M Texture polish in Lady and then added a black gem as an accent.

I used my heart punch on some tape for my thumb. I put stripes on my index finger and free handed hearts for the pinkie and did a half moon manicure on my middle finger. To make it matte I used my Rimmel Matte Top Coat.

I really like this manicure, I hope you guys do too!

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Manicure Swap With Rozs-Nailscapades

Hello fellow nail addicts! Can you believe this is my 3rd post this week?? I'm hoping to try and keep this up!

I have another manicure swap to share with you today and this time it's with the lovely Roz. We did a Twinsie manicure a while back and thought that this time a manicure swap would be fun! (If you didn't see our twinsie nails they're here)

Roz has so many pretty manicures on her blog I just couldn't quite decide which one to choose but then a simple purple and red french manicure popped out at me and I knew that would be the one I would recreate!

I never thought to put the combination together but it really does work in a strange way. The only thing is I had to use a lilac because I didn't have a dark purple. I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Fast Dry Nail colour in Rasperry Race and for the tips I used Rimmel Precious Stones in Ruby Crush.

I hope you like my manicure and don't forget to head on over to Rozs blog and check out her manicure.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Manicure Swap With Nail Art Novice

Hiya lovelies! Me again. Hope you're all having a fab week so far. So a couple of weeks ago I asked the lovely Jenni from Nail Art Novice if she'd like to do a manicure swap with me.

To my delight she said yes. So I went through her blog looking at all the cute and fun manicures that she's done and had a tough job picking one, there was just so many I wanted to do and choosing one was hard but after a long think I found one that I really wanted to do.

I chose the owl design she did back in April last year. I've been wanting to do owls for a while and when I saw this design I knew that was the one for me! This was a fairly easy design which I wasn't expecting at all and I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out.

Although I need to work on making my Owls actually look like owls I think but for my first attempt I didn't do too badly. I used Barry M in Mint Green, Black & White nail art pens for my dots and Avon NailWear Pro+ in Well Being for the Owl's tummy. Oh and for his beak i used a green nail art pen! Nearly forgot about that! Haha.

Here's all the nails together. I love Jenni's recreation of my Black Magic mani. This was fun! I would love to do more of these so if you're interested in doing a mani swap or have any requests for me then please feel free to comment below, email, tweet me or even send me a message on Facebook. All links are in my sidebar. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

The 52 Week Pick 'n' Mix Challenge | Pink Tri-Colour Gradient

Me again my lovelies!

Since I struggle some days with coming up for ideas to turn into decent manicures for you to look at I've decided I want to take part in a weekly challenge so that it gives me a kick up the bum to post more regularly for you lovely lot.

While I was looking around I came across The 52 Week Pick 'n' Mix Challenge over on The Crumpet. If you haven't seen Debbie's blog yet, why?? Her blog has been around for a few years and there's always something interesting and new on there so I suggest you get your butts over and have a look if you haven't already!

There will be two prompts each week and it's up to you whether you choose to do one, both or a combination of the two. This weeks prompts are a three colour gradient & pink. Since I'm a bit of a late starter, I went ahead and did a combination of the two.

I will aim to do this every week, but I'm just a little worried how I will get on over Christmas, I might even surprise myself. I'm a little gutted I missed the first week as I didn't make it into the group in time.

I've done a pink, 3 colour gradient. I painted my nails using Avon Nailwear Pro in Star as a base colour. With a damp makeup sponge I applied Rose Quartz and Viva Pink and sponged them onto my nails

This is a bit of a messy gradient for me, Well messier than normal because let's face it, my gradients are always up and down. Some days I've got it and others I don't.

I added the pink glitter last to give it that extra touch. I think this was a wee bit different and a little creative for me. I even added two heart home made decals for that little extra touch.

I hope you like this and if you want to join in with this challenge the links are all in the top of this post!

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Polish Party | Celebration Manicure

Hello guys!

I'm really sorry for not posting in what seems like an age (even though it's only 8 days!) Lol, but work has been busy and I just haven't had 5 mins to myself. I think I might have to start scheduling posts for you lovely lot.

Today's post is my first Polish Party post in a while. I've really missed doing them. I can't believe that it's been a whole year since the Polish Party started. It's great to see how much we've grown in a year and of course meeting new nail friends. I feel so lucky to have been part of this since the start.

Since September is also my birthday month I thought that the theme fit in great with that too! I knew what I wanted to do and I know a lot of people have gone for really simple designs but I wanted to have a go at free handing and maybe see if I can get more confidence. I don't think my design is as bad as it could have been but I'm in 2 minds as to whether I like it or not!

I started painting my nails white using Models Own in Snow White (which has now died a death and I really need a new bottle) then I whilst waiting for that to dry I went ahead and chose the other polishes I wanted to use.

My thumb is the only nail I didn't free hand and that was because I used striping tape to get the gift wrap effect. I added a cute little bow nail gem I was lucky enough to find at the bottom of my gem box.

Unfortunately, When I applied my top coat I didn't realise my polish was still a wee bit wet and it kinda smudged it. But this is why I called my blog The Imperfect 10

Can you tell what each nail represents??
FYI my Pinkie is supposed to be a party hat but it went horribly wrong. My little man decided he wanted to sit on mummy's knee to watch and kept wriggling!

I hope you like my Polish Party mani.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
