Polish Party: Halloween

Hello, hello beautiful readers! So, it's Halloween tomorrow and I can't wait. I've got the little man a cute little costume and I can't wait to take him to show the family. Then I'm hoping to have the evening to myself to sit on the sofa with a BIG bowl of popcorn and watch Scary Movies all night!! Today's post is the second Polish Party theme and I can't wait to show you what I came up with.

I had some BIG ideas for this months challenge but I decided to go with something that I LOVE about Halloween and that's watching Horror Movies!! Friday 13th is one of my favourite movies so I went with that but my Jason mask didn't turn out how I wanted because I had the OH and baby pestering me and I forgot what his mask looked like so I just made it up and I wasn't far wrong! Hehehe!!

I used Models Own in Snow White as a base then used my dotting tool to dot on the black polish then to make the blood splatter effect I used a straw put polish on the bottom of it and then blew it onto the nails using a 'two' kind of blow. It doesn't really make much sense but it's hard to describe. Lol, I really like the blood splatter. I think it adds to the design! If you want me to do a tutorial of the blood splatter please let me know and I can get it sorted for you my lovelies! I do enjoy hearing from you lovely lot.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
For This Manicure I Used:
OPI Original Nail Envy
Models Own in Snow White
George @ Asda Polish in Midnight Black
17 High Gloss in Risky Red
Seche Vite Top Coat
Dotting tool
Straw

Halloween Mani - Spooky Eyes

Good Evening my lovelies!! I really hope you're all still enjoying my blog as much as I enjoy writing it!! Well, as October is drawing to an end and it's Halloween this week I have a couple of Spooky mani's to show you that I have done this week. I will make a start with today's Spooky Eye's mani, shall we have a little look??

I did this mani a good few times as I first did a Glow in the Dark one but couldn't capture it with my stoooooopid camera! So I ended up re-doing it and this was my final design. I actually quite like this. I LOVE the eyes and how cool they look. I just used them as an accent for the design.

I used my OPI mini Glow Out For Halloween set for this mani. The only polish I didn't use was Boo-Berry which is the glow in the dark polish because I couldn't get any good photos for you guys. I will try ir again and maybe use my mums camera which is slightly better than mine!! Hehehe!! This was such an easy design to crate too and I used my dotting tools for the dots although some came out bigger than others which I have no idea how that happened. Nevermind! What do you guys think of this design??

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
For This Manicure I Used:
OPI Original Nail Envy (as a base coat)
OPI Mini in Cool Ghoul
OPI Mini in Witch Way?
OPI Mini in Jack's Back

Polish Us Pink #004

Good Evening my lovelies!!! I was supposed to post this yesterday but unfortunately it turned out to be one of those not so busy, busy days. I just couldn't find 5 minutes to myself to post it so I've decided to visit my mum and dad with my little man, hehehe!! This is my last Breast Cancer Awareness mani.

I wanted to make the most of this lush polish so I chose to do a butterfly design. This didn't quite turn out exactly how I pictured it in my mind but I still like this. I couldn't quite capture the beauty of this mani. I used my Models Own black nail art pen and dotting tool to create this manicure.

I didn't want to do all my nails with the butterfly wings because I felt it would be too much so I opted for a double dotticure to go with my wing designs. I really like this design. What do you think of my last Polish Us Pink mani?? Please excuse the dry and bad looking skin and cuticles. I can't quite get them looking good again.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
 For this Manicure I Used:
Collection 2in1 Base Coat & Ridge Filler
Models Own mini in Pink Cocktail
Models Own Artstix Pen in Black
Models Own in Snow White
Dotting Tools
Seche Vite Top Coat

Swatched: Models Own - Pink Cocktail

Good Morning my lovelies! Hope the rainy weather isn't getting you all down too much. The weekend is almost here. I can't believe October is almost over. That means there's only 9 weeks until Christmas! I can't wait!! On my nails today I have another Models Own swatch for you.

It's the lovely Pink Cocktail which is an exclusive shade only found in the Beetlejuice mini trio. This retails for £8 you get 3x 6ml sized bottles. You can get your hands on this mini set from Boots and Models Own. Also included in this set along with this lovely Pink Cocktail polish is Golden Green and Pinky Brown.

This polish doesn't have a strong 'beetle shell' look compared to the other 2 in this set but it still has this pretty subtle blue shimmer to it. I used 3 coats of this to get a full opaque coverage and it goes on so smoothly but I will say you're better off leaving each coat to dry for a good hour or so otherwise you'll be prone to bubbling on the third coat. I absolutely love this polish and it's such a nice girly shade.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Swatched: Models Own - Mirrorball Collection

Good Morning my lovelies! Hope you've all had a fab weekend, it's another week already and I hope this bad weather isn't getting you all down. I'm not enjoying the dark morning but I'm getting used to them. We've had some really wet dark days over the last few days so I wanted something sparkly to cheer myself up with. The first polishes I reached for were of course the lush Models Own Mirrorball Collection.

I couldn't decide which one I wanted to go with so I chose them all. They're all so pretty so you can imagine how hard choosing between them is?! I've seen a lot of people swatching these on a black base colour but I decided to go with a white base. How pretty do they look?? Each polish is a gorgeous glitter bomb and you can layer them quite easily.

I used 2 coats of Models Own in Snow White then once that was completely dry I used 2 coats of each Mirrorball polish. I love how random the glitter looks and it certainly adds that little something. It's such a shame my photos don't capture the beauty of the polishes because they're amazingly sparkly.

L-R: Freak Out, Dancing Queen, Boogie Nights, Disco Inferno & Hot Stuff!

Freak Out!: A mix of royal blue, light blue and fuchsia glitter.
Dancing Queen: A mix of blue, green and gold glitter.
Boogie Nights: A mix of royal blue, purple and fuchsia glitter.
Disco Inferno: A mix of gold, copper and green glitter.
Hot Stuff: A mix of gold, pink, red and copper glitter.
These look pretty on any polish, they are by far my favourite glitter polishes and I always try to think of ways to use them. Which one is your favourite??

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Halloween Mani - Spiders

Good Morning my lovelies!! Hope you're all very well and having a great weekend. I can't believe how quickly October is actually flying by! Halloween will be soon upon us, and I really enjoy it. I have my whole entire evening planned so I'm pretty excited for it to hurry up!! I wanted to get myself in the mood a little more and since I've started seeing some great Halloween mani's floating about, I thought what better way to get all Halloween'd up than doing something on my nails?!

This is what I came up with, I mean what's scarier than these guys?? I'm not a fan of spiders, actually they make my skin crawl as I have a MA-HOO-SIVE phobia of the little suckers. I had a few ideas in my head about what I wanted to do with these but after about 3 attempts I just wasn't feeling it. I had a coffee then went back to it and this is how they came out.

I'm really pleased with how they turned out although my spiders legs didn't quite work out how I wanted but that's because I'm rubbish at the small details. I'm loving my nails at this length too so I think they're a keeper. I started off using 2 coats of a black base colour then with my silver striper I added on the cobwebs and the spiders legs. I used 4 nail gems for the spiders, 2x small for the heads and 2x big for the abdomens. I really like the glitter I added to my thumb.

Anyway my lovelies, I'm really sorry if I was waffling too much during this post but you know me. I'm a chatterbox! Lol. Hope you like this mani and keep your eyes peeled for more Halloween mani's coming up.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

Collection 2in1 Base Coat & Ridge Filler
George at Asda polish in Midnight Black
China Glaze in Nova
Technic Striper Pen in Silver

Polish Us Pink Mani #003

Hello there my wonderful readers! It's the weekend!! Hope you've all got a great one planned. My weekend will be a busy one as I'm working. Today, I have another Pink mani for you for Polish Us Pink. Wanna see what I did?? Well, come on then.

I really like this and would definitely do something like this again. I started this mani off with a pink ombre and I was going to leave it but then as I kept looking at it I felt it lacked a little something so I decided to do a pink ribbon as an accent.

Before I did this mani, I kept thinking to myself how on Earth will I top last weeks mani? It's not AMAZING but I really like it as it's simple and just looks so pretty. It's such a pretty girly mani. I love the polishes I chose as they look so cute together.

Here's a bottle shot of all the polishes I used.

I made my Breast Cancer Awareness ribbon out of Striping tape and some pink nail gems. I surprised myself with how well my ribbon turned out as I'm not really great at adding small details. My hands get too shaky and I end up making a mess but then how can you go wrong with striping tape and gems??

I really hope you're all enjoying my mani's and I think I'm getting a little better with my clean up too! I just need to try and get those dry cuticles under control.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

A Peacock in a Ball Gown

Good Morning my beautiful readers!!! Hope you've all had a fab week! It's the weekend, and as usual I have a busy one planned, I'm working tomorrow and have been all week, which I've really enjoyed doing but I'm definitely tired!!

Remember the review I did for those lush SEVENTEEN polishes I did?? If not you can find it here. Here's the mani I did with the lush Ball Gown polish. I absolutely love this, it's so cute.

I didn't want to go too overboard so I kept it simple but I wanted to try and show off the pretty pearly shade of this polish. I really like the polish I used with this as I think they compliment each other.

I chose one of my SEVENTEEN mini's to accompany Ball Gown, I went with the lovely Fast Finish polish in Peacock and as you can see I just used it as an accent and on just the tips then to stamp the Peacock on my thumb.

I couldn't resist adding a peacock on this mani. I LOVE Peacocks and have been dying to use this stamp. I hope you like it, I think it's really pretty and I just love that Peacock shade. What do you lovelies think??

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
For This Manicure I Used:
Collection 2in1 Base Coat & Ridge Filler

Hello there my beautiful readers!! How are we all? Don't worry, the weekend will soon be here once again. I've had a busy week so far but I've still managed to enjoy myself. Today I have another Pink mani for Polish Us Pink. Wanna see it?? Of course you do.

I absolutely love this design, I had no idea what I was going to do and again I just let the polish do the talking and went with the flow. I'm really proud of this. Everyone needs to wish on a shooting star from time to time, don't they??

I used Jesse's Girl in Cupcake Frosting as a base colour and I used Nails Inc. Limited Edition Breast Cancer Awareness polish in Pinkie Pink. I used Models Own in Northern Lights for the trail of the shooting stars and blue nail gems.

I think it's my favourite mani so far and I have no idea how I'm going to top this on my next pink mani. Have you seen Nails Inc. Pinkie Pink polish?? She's so sparkly, I hope you're all painting your pinkie pink too. I really hope you're all enjoying my mani's and if you have any requests or questions please feel free to let me know lovelies.

Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

How To Remove Glitter Nail Polish

Hello there lovely readers. Don't you just hate it when this happens??

Well, today I'm going to show you how I remove glitter nail polish, and believe me I've tried many ways but this one is by far the easiest and most effective. So let's get started shall we?

You Will Need:

Nail Polish Remover
Tin Foil cut into 10 strips
Cotton Pads cut in half or quarters

1. Put some nail polish remover on one of the cotton pad halves, then pop this onto your nail making sure the nail polish remover can soak into the glitter polish.

2. Wrap one of the foil strips around the nail making sure it's wrapped nice and tight around the cotton pad and it's secure on your finger. The whole point of the foil is to secure the soaked cotton over the nail without any evaporation.

3.  Repeat the first 2 steps until you have finished one hand (or both, I find it easier to do one at a time). Once you have finished your first hand, read some blog posts, listen to some music or do some 5 minute exercises while you let those sparkles soak.

4. Ok, so now you've soaked your nails for long enough it's time to remove the foil. What I like to do while I'm removing the foil is to massage the tips then twist it off, that way the cotton pad picks up as much of the sparkles as possible. You will have the residue of some loose sparkles left on your nails like mine so take another cotton pad and with some remover just wipe around the edges of your nails.

I always like to wash my hands after doing this method and then give them a nice scrub with a nail brush to make sure all the remover has been cleaned from my hands. And this is the finished look. I like using this method, it really works for me. As you can see I have nice clean sparkle free nails. (Please ignore the dry cuticles)
Well there you have my way of removing glitter nail polish without having to take hours getting rid it. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.

NOTD: Nude Beige & Pink Fizz

Good Morning beautiful readers! I hope you've all had a great weekend, can you believe it's almost Monday already?! The days seem to just whizz by even quicker now we're heading towards Christmas don't you think?? Anywho, here's a glitter gradient NOTD I had a go at doing.

I have to say Pink Fizz is one of my favourite Models Own glitters and I'd forgotten I had this until I saw this post by the lovely The Naily Mail. After seeing the mani Lauren done I just had to give this a go. I really like how this turned out and so pleased at how well the colours go together.

I mean look at how sparkly she is!! I think I went a little overboard with the glitter gradient but I've never tried it before so i know not to use too much glitter, but then when have you ever used TOO much glitter?? It's never enough! Lol.

 Here's the polishes I used.

I've had loads of compliments. I like the nude and sparkly combination, it's something I've never actually tried before. and definitely something I will be doing again but with different colour combos.

I really hope you like this mani my lovelies.
Until Next Time, Keep Polishing.
